My friends, after a long reflection, we made a decision. We delineated a purpose and set a goal. We are aware that this goal will be harsh and difficult, but besides this, it is a goal that can be achieved. This is the “mapping” of Cyprus from one hand side and the revelation of the island’s Hellenism on the other, through the picture. We want to show and even more to remind the world that Hellenism is on the island for three thousand years from the first day Akamas put his foot on the land of Cyprus and no one can evict him.
We want to take pictures and present each corner of Cyprus to the world. Each district. Each municipality. Each town. Each village. Each neighbourhood to be photographed.
We will try to show you the most out of our occupied by the Turks villages. Things over there are difficult because we have recent negative experiences with the occupying power.
For this reason I appeal to you, if you see a IX-ANDROMEDA photographer outside your house, do not throw stones at him. Treat him with a glass of water and talk to him.
The route to the accomplishment of this task will be longstanding and costly. Thousands of hours of work in the streets and on the computers will be needed. You can also contribute in this effort. Participate in the whole process by posting your own pictures. Each photograph on Cyprus is welcome.
