In the same field where thousands of years ago Goddess Aphrodite was hosted and after Rigaina, the mysterious and legendary Queen of Cyprus, there is also a small chapel dedicated to Our Lady. This chapel is called “ekklisia tis Panagias tou Kampou” (the church of Our Lady of the field).

It is found west of the village of Akapnou, after the bridge above the tributary of Vasiliko, that takes you to the village of Eptagonia. Not very far away from the point where the Queen of Cyprus, Rigaina fell from her horse and died, upon her effort to escape from her persecutors. The cause of her fall was the small rivulet that is still today called “argaki tis Rigainas” (the rivulet of Rigaina).

It has a single aisled Basilica, that has a gabled roof, covered in tiles. The Church is built out of stone and on the internal, southern wall, there are frescoes.

On the eastern forecourt, there is a big rock that has a hole in it and on the western on, there is a small park for children.
