The once traditional centre of Geroskipou has been transformed into a big, paved square that includes almost everything.
The building of the Municipality, one of the two five-domed basilicas that exist in Cyprus, the monument in honour of the Heroes of the Municipality, a small amphitheatre, fountains, elaborately designed faucets, a small green area, restaurants, cafeterias, shops selling traditional sweets, parking places (free), are just a few of what the Community council put in the square to serve its visitors.
The square of Geroskipou is a real oasis of rest, in a landscape that changes quickly. Geroskipou was the place where the Goddess of Beauty chose to create her holy gardens. In an area where waters ran plentiful, the holy gardens of Aphrodite received thousands of visitors from all over the world.
Likewise today, the small garden with the fountains receives hundreds of visitors from all over the world, that enjoy the calmness of the landscape, no matter how strange this seems, since it borders with a noisy road.
