On the peak of the “Arodafni” hill, and a hundred metres northeast of the picnic area of Oroklini, is where the chapel of Profitis Ilias is found built from the beginning of the 16th century.
The church was built at two phases, at very different moments. In the beginning a small single aisled, vaulted basilica was built. A lot later, an extension was made on the west, with another completed single aisled basilica with a gabled roof. The two small Churches were joined and the older one is the narthex of the newer one.
The “strange” construction has a dissimilarity. The old Church is built out of irregular stone and the newer one has carved stone, which makes the difference very intense. This difference gives it a strange and extraordinary beauty.
From the forecourt, the visitor may have amazing images of the whole village of Oroklini, as well as the coastal areas of Larnaca.
East of the Church, there is a narrow, downhill path taking you to a point where there are some human traces and it is called “Pathkies tou Agiou”.
