The small Church dedicated to Archangel Michael is found in the centre of the transformed and paved square of the village of Kiti in Larnaca. It is a single aisled, vaulted Basilica of Byzantine style, that has a tiled roof.
The single aisled Church is fully built out of irregular stones. The belfry is also made up of stone, and it is put above the eastern corner of the wall on the south and it is the continuation of the external supporting wall.
On the north side of the Church there is an old, luxuriant and high cypress tree, probably the only old tree saved, and it is found in the beautiful square that the community’s authorities have formed, aiming to embellish the traditional centre of the progressive community of Kiti.
The small Church, after the accomplishment of the works in the square, will be the point of reference for the whole community due to its religious interest as well as to its architecture which will give a certain character to the square. Traditional coffee shops and football unions surround it, as well as an old mansion hosting the “Folk art Museum” which is a characteristic sample of lowland architecture.
The chapel of Archangel Michael in Kiti is always open from very early in the morning and it is ready to welcome its visitors.
