On the northeast side of the church of the Saints Constantinos and Eleni in Tochni, at a distance of about 30 metres, there are ruins of another church. The church of Timios Stavros (Holy Cross).
It is a very old, Gothic style church. There was an older, Byzantine one in its place, that was transformed to a Latin church from the Roman occupiers of that period.
There are no historical facts about the church but it is said that it is dated in the 14th century. Today it is found in the form of ruins and some parts of the wall on the west are supported with beams so that they do not collapse.
Even though it is an important monument, it seems as if the only care it is under, is its support. It is found in the same yard as the old elementary school of Tochni, that is also in the stage of collapsing.
The two monuments are ‘drowning’ in dirt.
