The Diplopotamos area in Kalo Chorio of the mountainous part of Klirou, is one of the most beautiful valleys in Cyprus, and this is why it is included in the Natura 2000 programme.
From the bridge of the river Maroullena, a narrow path that takes you deep into the gorge, just 20 metres from the joining point with the Farmaka river begins. At every step of yours, beautiful, unique views appear to you.
Once you get into the gorge, while observing the morphology of the rocks, you are filled with awe at the thought of the power necessary to move these rocks and from being horizontal to get a vertical angle.
The power of the land that makes the island higher, is clearly seen at the gorge of the valley of the Maroullena river.
At their connecting point, the two rivers forms the one of the two tributaries of Serrachis, the Akaki river.
