In the small village of Delikipos in the Larnaca district, there is a Church dedicated to Metamorfosi tou Sotiros (the Transformation of the Saviour). It is found on the peak of the small barrow dominating the small field, where the few houses of the village are built.
It is a single aisled Basilica with a gabled, wooden, tiled and pointed roof. The Church is built with stone from the area in the place of another, smaller one and it was built in 1726.
On the outside, it seems to have received repairs and interventions. The bell is mounted on a wooden structure which adjoins the east wall on which is based the quadrant formed by the altar.
The village Delikipos, which risked being left without inhabitants ten years ago, since only 8 people were left to live in it, managed to beat the urbanization and its population began to grow.
Most houses are modern and inhabited by young couples. That image of the young mother pushing the stroller with her newborn child so much comfort and joy, along the only road of the village, passing among Pine trees, is proof that the Delikipos has recovered.
