The small dam of Tamassos which is situated on the right side of the road Psimolofou - Kampia, is built out of sand on the valley formed by the Pediaios river. The dam’s aim is to limit the vicious downstream of the river heading to Nicosia and to help enrich the underground waters of the area.
In periods of time and when the tide is low, the fishing phenomenon appears by the citizens of the surrounding villages. You see, when the water is high, the fishermen (that’s what they think) of sweet water do not dare to appear on the sides of the dam. Why does the fishing department give permits when the waters are so low and fish do not have a choice?
