The Lympia waterdam is built on the Tremithos river, and it is found if we are travelling from Alampra towards the Mosfiloti village, through the old road of Nicosia to Limassol.
It is at a distance of 22 kilometres from Nicosia. It is a small dam and it is the third in a row that has been built in the same place.
Its banks are ideal areas for trips and family excursions. It is found in a green place. The visitor will have difficulties in finding it, since there are no guiding signs. So how do we get to the waterdam?
If you are travelling from Alampra towards Mosfiloti, as soon as you pass the E.A.C. facilities (you will find them on your left, at a distance of 500 metres from the village) you turn on the second exit on the left (it is a dirt road) and in about 200 metres, you will see the dam among eucalyptus trees.
The water that is stored, is distributed to the area’s fields through a small, open canal. Even though there is a person responsible for recording the amount of water consumed by each beneficiary, conflicts still exist.
