The Athalassa lake is situated at the Agios Georgios park, which is part of the National park of Athalassa, which has a total area of 900 hectares.
The lake is found south of the park of Agios Georgios and its waters have a length of 275 metres and a maximum width of 66 metres. The park’s wildlife suffers from human presence. Even the Aglantzia Municipality, instead of being in favour and a prime mover of care and the prosperity of the legal residents of the park, it organises big events from time to time that attract a huge amount of people.
In ecosystems such as the one in the park, necessary action should be taken so as for it to be protected from the human presence, and a good one would be the park’s closure for people.
