There is a small but impressive lake at the Ergates village in the district of Nicosia. It has a circular shape and in the middle there is a “small island” with a few trees on it.
It is found east of the village, on the road that leads you to the Psimolofou village. The river Pedieos that passes by only a few metres west of the lake is its “creator”.
There are dozens of birds at its water, mostly geese and ducks and this is the reason why a lot of people visit its shores.
We do not know if the lake’s area belongs to some private owner or to the head of the community. No matter whose it is, the space should be embellished so that it becomes another beautiful destination for the residents of the Municipalities of extended Nicosia.
