You can reach the village called Agia Anna that belongs to the district of Larnaca coming from two opposite directions. One of them is by coming from west, from the Mosfiloti village’s entrance, whose biggest part is in a pinewood, and the other one is coming from the east, from the Kalo Chorio roundabout ; after you cover a distance of a few kilometres through naked hills, you will end up at the entrance of the village.
Agia Anna is built on the east side of the Tremithos river and on the outskirts of the forest of Stavrovouni. It is found “trapped” in the valley formed by the river, from the low hills and it is one of the most beautiful and quiet villages of Cyprus. The centre of the village conserves local architecture and the stone built houses create a beautiful environment for the residents themselves as well as the visitors.
Its geographical position that remains far from the noise of the town, but at the same time in a small distance from it, make it a desirable place for permanent residence. Many houses are being renovated based on the traditional local architecture.
The community council, made sure to create squares and small parks, making the most of the areas of land that was abandoned by their Turkish Cypriot owners after the 1974 incidents.
Even though the number of the settlers does not exceed 300 nevertheless there are 3 churches in the community. One is dedicated to Panagia Eleousa (Our Lady Eleousa) and two to Agia Anna (Saint Anna). Each one of them has its own interesting story concerning its construction.
During the winter when the rain fills the Tremithos riverbed and the water flows to the Kition water dam, at some point east of the village small waterfalls are formed, giving it a wild beauty.
