The Germasogeia water dam attracts thousands of fishermen and is a good income source for the government.
In 2013 the use of this water was extended and the inexplicable pause of desalination stations in the country has been noticed, resulting to today’s small stock of water left. This was also reflected on the country’s farmers that have been introduced to the new “quota” for the use of water in the end of the year 2014.
Beautiful pathways called “Nature’s paths” were created all around the dam area. The best path is the “Kiparissia path” that covers a distance of about 11 kilometres. The path is divided into two routes and each one ends up in a different place. If you are determined, chose the longest one (about 4 hours of normal walk) and the trip will reward you with its panoramic views of the dam area and also that of Limassol.
