The village Alaminos that is found on the west side of the town of Limassol does not have a big extent of coasts. The total length of them does not exceed two kilometres, beginning west of the beach of Mazotos with the popular “Paralia Petounta” (Petounta Beach) and it ends up a few hundred metres after the hotel village of Aldiana Zypern. However, in these two kilometres, two of the best beaches of Cyprus and a yacht shelter which is currently a shelter of fishing boats, are included.
The first beach is “Mystikos Paradisos Alaminou” or Secret Paradise Beach. West from it, there is another, big beach that was recently created. It is the beach of “Aldiana Zypern” that along with the first one, make up “Paralia Alaminou” (Beach of Alaminos).
The beach Aldiana Zypern has a length of about 400 metres and a width of 10-40 metres. The increase and decrease in its width create small gulfs, which impresses its swimmers and simple visitors.
The hotel complex of Aldiana Zypern manages it. It equipes the beach with lifeguards and offers very kind of service for safe use of the sea, even by small children. Sea sports, professional or amateur found the beach of Aldiana Zypern to develop thanks to the appropriate conditions.
Dozens of people of the hotel work every day, not only in the summer but also in the winter to serve the athletes and the visitors of the beach. The beach from very early in the morning is being cleaned and the sand is being sieved to get rid of unwanted elements. Small boats, canoes, surfing boards, speedboats and many others are “waiting” for the athletes in arrays. With the first daylight, the beach comes back to life. Dozens of shapely girls and boys (athletes from northern countries) get on the boats and get lost into the blue of the sea.
The beach of Aldiana Zypern was recently created and it is unknown to most Cypriots. Foreigners (thousands of them) know it and fill it up every day.
Even though it is found in front of the hotel complex with the same name, and even though it is managed by it, the accesses to it are open and encouraged by the managers.
The people, or even better, the People who designed and constructed the tourist village, not only did they respect the environment and the sea, they also built in it a very beautiful complex and gave it such colours and shape, thus creating an environment between the buildings and on the surroundings in which the construction literally gets lost.
If for similar cases of development we talk about the protection of the environment, in this case of Aldiana Zypern, we should talk with admiration towards the environment that this development created. The People who built a huge hotel complex, in an area that 15 years ago did not contain anything, and gave to the community of Alaminos and to every Cypriot one by one an environment and a beach of which many similar projects abroad will be jealous of for sure.
The beach of Aldiana Zypern is the crown of our organised tourist beaches.
